Careers

A mill in Edgewood. Jobs that stay here.

When the plant runs, we expect 80 to 90 or more people on the floor and in the offices — operators, welders, millwrights, inspectors, coaters, crane operators. This is not a dusty old mill. It is a clean, high-tech plant where safety, quality, and skilled work matter every day.

Trades the mill will need.

Hiring follows the plant. We anticipate breaking ground before 2030. When we post roles, they will come here and through info@nmpipe.com. Pay bands below are what this kind of mill pays for skilled work in this region — not an offer letter.

Production operators

$20–$36 / hr

Coil handling, mill operations, forming and cut-off. Training on modern equipment — this is not a throwback mill.

Welding & fabrication

$26–$50+ / hr

Spiral weld, fitting weld, tie-ins on tees, elbows, and beveled ends. Certifications supported. Skill is respected here.

Quality & inspection

$26–$48 / hr

Dimensional checks, weld inspection, lining and coating QA. Path toward CWI and plant-level quality leadership.

Millwright & maintenance

$28–$50+ / hr

Keep a coil-fed mill running. Mechanical, electrical, PLC, and large-horsepower equipment. The plant only works if this crew does.

Coating & lining

$20–$36 / hr

Mortar lining and polyurethane coating — the layers that give a steel line its service life in New Mexico soils.

Yard, crane & logistics

$20–$32 / hr

Move 50-foot pipe safely. Crane, forklift, staging, and outbound loads bound for water projects across the state.

Local first.

Edgewood, Moriarty, Estancia, the East Mountains, and the Albuquerque metro. If you already live here, you should not have to leave to do this work. We will train. We will certify. Welding tickets, millwright skill, CWI — those are paths, not locked doors.

Not a throwback mill.

Coil-fed forming. Automated process control. Modern QA. A plant you could bring a junior or a senior to and say: this is manufacturing in New Mexico now. Safety is not a poster. Quality is not a slogan. The pipe either holds water or it does not.
